DermSurgery
Enterprise Enabler synchronizes and automates entry of patient
data across multiple systems, improving accuracy and freeing
up ½ FTE of staff time.
"As data moves through different
systems, we are now certain that it will maintain its
original integrity. This gives researchers the confidence
to use multiple points of reference when doing scientific
research."
- Leonard H. Goldberg, M.D., F.R.C.P., world-renowned
dermatologic surgeon at DermSurgery Associates.
"Stone Bond has made our life much easier so we can
give more attention to our patients."
- Linda Taibel, DermSurgerys head of administration.

Challenge: The doctors and administrators of DermSurgery
Laser Center, a Houston-based private practice specializing
in Mohs, dermatologic and cosmetic surgeries, were manually
entering patient data into four separate applications. Each
system required a different method for assigning patient identities
and there was little, if any, communication between the structures.
Stone Bonds Solution: For DermSurgery, Enterprise
Enabler synchronized and automated the entry and processing
of patient data across four different information systems.
These included CMEDS for scheduling, electronic claims, insurance
filing, billing and end-of-month reporting; NexGen, the HIPPA-regulated
database that tracks surgical patients; and two scientific
databases that track all surgical information.
Benefits: Using Enterprise Enabler integration technology
to automate and synchronize data entry across all four systems
DermSurgery eliminated fours hours per day in data entry.
This equates to saving 20 hours per week, or half a work year,
each year, on data entry. Saving this much time equated to
a quick recoup of the initial investment spend to purchase
EE. Additionally, formatting the system to accept each patients
information and share it across the four systems helped eliminate
data entry errors, providing faster processing and improved
data integrity.
