Extend Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007's Connectivity through Enterprise Enabler®
Stone Bond Technologies brings an unparalleled level of compatibility and connectivity to SharePoint Server 2007 ('SharePoint'), through Enterprise Enabler (EE). SharePoint's Business Data Catalog (BDC) enables portal web parts to include data from external LOB applications; potentially allowing SharePoint to be the focal point of all data consumption and analysis of enterprise-wide information. The success of such an initiative in any organization rests in the ability to connect all of the mission-critical data sources to the BDC. Out-of-the-box support for these sources is limited, and more often than not the data itself is not in a directly consumable format and needs to be manipulated prior to being displayed on the SharePoint Portal. This leaves implementers/developers no alternative but to write plumbing code and/or build a staging database, which must be subsequently maintained. Enterprise Enabler has built-in capability to connect to hundreds of sources and integrate them with the BDC. EE's hybrid Extract-Transform-Load (ETL) plus Enterprise Application Integration (EAI) engine extends the reach of the SharePoint installation far beyond the default capabilities of the BDC. This eliminates the need for a staging database and virtually eliminates any custom code. EE's federated query capability allows SharePoint to search, index and report from a variety of sources and define relationships across system boundaries. Without EE, unsupported data integrations into SharePoint require the development of Web Parts that must include logic for connectivity, mapping and alignment of data sources, and data transformations. Benefits of SharePoint implementations integrated through EE
- Ability to access data from virtually any source without programming
- Greatly reduce development and subsequent maintenance time and cost
- Deliver a seamless and transparent deployment into the SharePoint environment
- Eliminate customization or intrusive modifications to the SharePoint portal platform
- Provide a secure, Auditable, 100% .NET-based environment for connectivity to SharePoint
- Automatically generate BDC metadata
- Create virtual relationships across disparate sources
- Implement semantic alignment and transformation of data from unlike sources
- Configure inbound and outbound integration to conform to most standards for data formats, encryption, packaging, and transport
- Provides otherwise unsupported capabilities; such as:
- Data transformation
- Data filtering
- Conditional integration from disparate sources
- Combining and aligning of information from multiple sources
Enterprise Enabler's adapter-less connectivity and many-to-many complex transformation engine, customers can derive even more value from SharePoint in conjunction with existing data warehouses, ERP systems, SOA initiatives and legacy applications.Partial list of supported integrations:
