Integration solutions for SOA
SOA

Enterprise Enabler’s SOA support includes easy and direct accessibility to any number and types of data, merged and aligned by our powerful transformation engine, along with workflow processes, all designed, built, and tested in a single environment without programming, and deployed with a single click. All of the functionality of Enterprise Enabler (EE) is available in SOA compliant services. Traditional SOA platforms rely on BEPL or ESB architecture to transport data flow, which is not the case with EE. Our unique transformation engine and proprietary data access layer set Enterprise Enabler’s SOA apart.

Enterprise Enabler Enables SOA While Offering the Connecting Bridge to Legacy, and other Non-SOA Systems
EE has an important role to play in the world of SOA, as an extender/enabler for SOA-enabled solutions. EE provides a robust platform to build and run highly customized solutions building a bridge to legacy and other non-SOA complaint systems while conforming to SOA standards.

Legacy systems tend not to be SOA-compliant. EE is agnostic to data subject and application source. Using Enterprise Enabler's unique AppComm™ technology, our integration solution altogether eliminates the need for classic adapters. AppComms can be thought of as metadata-driven dynamic adapters. There is no need to learn proprietary scripting language. Developers use AppComm templates, maps and processes to create multiple models within EE. Using our pre-built AppComm nodes, EE provides native connectivity directly to the application, which allows for easy connectivity with non-SOA compliant systems, including your existing legacy structures. That means everyone can talk to one another over the connected telephone network using EE, while speaking in native mode.

The Advantages of Configuring vs. Coding
Using typical SOA tools, each data source requires custom coding to create Web Service interfaces. Custom java code must be written to retrieve data and map it to XML data. The complexity of this coding and the difficulty to maintain it over time increase as business rules and workflow become more complex.

EE offers a rich drag-and-drop GUI process designer functionality making it easy to configure workflow and consume and expose Web Services. That means EE requires configuring instead of the coding needed to execute traditional SOA solutions, resulting in faster, more cost effective integration solutions.

The Secret is our Proprietary Transformation Engine
Most SOA tools use a standard called XSLT for data transformation, which requires that all data coming into and going out of the mapping and transformation must be XML. Our engine supports many-to-many mappings among hierarchical and relational forms for all data types in native mode. This feature eliminates the need for caching the transformations, and there is no need for a data warehouse or a master database for staging data. EE simply grabs the correct and current data directly from the connecting services and applications. The unique engine design can incorporate already-in-place applications into workflows and business processes implemented in composite applications. EE's faster, more flexible reconfiguration of composite SOA applications enables quick response to a changing environment.

A Single Environment to Develop, Test, Deploy and Monitor
As services and applications exchange data, the opportunities for mismatches and unmapped transformations increase dramatically. EE has a single environment for developing, testing, deploying and monitoring infrastructure and workflow change on an ongoing basis. Our Source of Record data manager provides information of the correct data source to be used for the data mappings, reducing data mapping errors.

Our patented Integration Integrity Process (IIP) monitors for change, performs impact analysis, notifies stakeholders and reconciles issues automatically. EE maintains complete audit trails of changes to underlying metadata. As a result, where the data came from and when and how it was generated or transformed is completely known at any time from EE logs. In addition to the audit logs, IIP assists in the smooth transition of changes in the integration environment.

Security
Some industry experts have raised concerns about the security of data mapping and transportation internally and between business partners. EE can be configured to provide security log-ins and customized permissions within the workflow. Our audit trail capabilities also provide encryption security for confidential data transfer.

Scalability, Reusability
EE makes it possible to assemble Web Services in a standards-based repository to facilitate easy reuse. These Web Services can be assembled into composite applications, making it possible to expand capabilities as an organization grows.
